Lack of batteries hinders Mercedes & halts I-Pace production

Jaguar is suspending production of its electric SUV I-Pace in Graz, Austria this week due to battery cell supply problems. The British firm gets its batteries from the LG Chem plant in Poland. Mercedes is also suffering from lack of battery cells among other issues.

UK’s NHS kits out fleet with 700 Jaguar I-Pace

Jaguar is providing a large fleet of its I-Pace electric model for the British National Health Service (NHS). An agreement between the manufacturer and the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides for a fleet of 700 Jaguar EVs.

Warwick Uni gives Jaguar I-Pace batteries 2nd Life

Researchers from Warwick University have succeeded in repurposing Jaguar I-Pace batteries as a small energy storage system. Each unit contains about 2 kWh energy capacity, and can power “a small shop, a farm, or multiple residential homes,” claims the team.

JLR installs 166 NewMotion charging points

Jaguar Land Rover has had NewMotion (Shell) install 166 charging points at their development centre in Gaydon. The 7 kW chargers are ready for employee use. JLR will also install charging stations in the Gaydon visitor car park and later at other locations in the UK.

Jaguar I-Pace delivered to Germany in limited volume

Jaguar has begun delivery of it’s I-Pace e-SUV to German customers. The manufacturer said there is only a limited volume of vehicles available during the first year in the German market. Additionally, Jaguar has specified the prices for their charging cooperation with Plugsurfing.

Jaguar Classic confirms electric E-type

Jaguar has confirmed that their 2017 concept electric E-Type will go into serial production and that current owners can bring in their E-Type to install an electric motor. This follows “overwhelmingly positive” feedback for their original concept.

When an electric raging Jaguar meets Audi (video)

It is not exactly a match, a race between Jaguar’s first and only electric car, the I-Pace SUV, and Audi’s conventionally powered Audi RS3 sedan. Maybe that is why CarWow put them against each other three times with two drag races and a test of brakes.

Munich taxi centre picks up 10 Jaguar I-Pace

The Munich Taxi Centre (MTZ) has taken on ten Jaguar I-Pace for regular taxi services. The e-taxi fleet of the MTZ was also officially presented today. A fluent two-shift system for the taxis was enabled by the installation of a specialized fast-charging infrastructure.
