LA to install megawatt solar microgrid to charge electric buses
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) has been awarded a $6mn grant by the California Energy Commission to install one of the largest EV fleet charging systems in the US. The funding comes after the agency had announced to transition its entire fleet to electric in time for the Summer Olympics in 2028.

Los Angeles first electric buses to hit the road in March
The city of Los Angeles will receive the first of a total of 155 electric buses to be delivered over the next two years starting in March. The procurement is part of the Californian city’s plan to fully electrify its bus fleet by the start of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Hyundai starts electric car-sharing in L.A.
Hyundai has established a new venture named MoceanLab to provide mobility services in LA. Starting with a pilot carsharing, Mocean Carshare will deploy up to 20 Hyundai Ioniq PHEVs across the city of angels still this year before adding pure electric vehicles to the fleet.

Los Angeles orders 130 BYD electric buses
BYD has just announced that the Los Angeles Department of Transportation has ordered 130 battery-electric buses. The order has been prompted by the “Green New Deal”, that involves converting the entire LA public transit bus fleet to zero-emission buses by 2030.
