British Columbia increases maximum rebates for commercial EVs
In Canada, British Columbia’s Specialty-Use Vehicle Incentive (SUVI) is set to receive a $31-million cash boost to double the maximum rebates for electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles available for local businesses and governments, public sector organisations and non-profit organisations.
Cenntro presents last mile delivery e-van
The US-American EV designer and manufacturer Cenntro Automotive presented plans to expand its product portfolio with a purpose-built, all-electric Class 4 vehicle to serve the last-mile urban delivery market.
Workhorse receives order for over 6,000 electric delivery vehicles
US manufacturer Workhorse has announced a major order for its electric delivery vehicles: Pride Group Enterprises, which operates in Canada and the US, is ordering 6,320 C-Series electric delivery trucks from Workhorse, concerning the C-650 and C-1000 models, with deliveries scheduled to take place between July 2021 and 2026.
Gnewt marks 10 million zero-emission deliveries
The London-based electric delivery fleet Gnewt has delivered it’s 10 millionth parcel emissions-free. The company estimates to have saved a total of 2.3 million kg of CO2 compared to standard diesel delivery. Gnewt currently operates a 120-strong EV fleet.
Ford presents humanoid mail-robot
Ford cooperated with Agility Robotics to produce the Digit, a man-like robot that can carry packages up to 20 kg all the way up the stairs and to your door step, similarly to what a real postman is supposed to do.
Renault presents EZ-POD personal BEV
Based on the Twizy, Renault presented a new micromobile for transporting people and goods over short distances called the EZ-POD. The concept vehicle is battery-powered and fully automated. The pods can also be joined together to form convoys for transporting larger groups.
FedEx robot delivers live on television
The US logistics company FedEx has presented a battery-powered delivery robot named SameDay. They managed to get it on the Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, fit for a stairclimbing exercise but not quite advances enough to talk.
Ford takes over scooter company Spin
Ford has announced the takeover of Spin, a vehicle-sharing operator using electric scooters based in San Francisco. The plan is to extend the service to 100 other U.S. cities over the next 18 months.
