Norway remains the electric car nation number one: In the first half of 2019, all-electric cars continue to rise in numbers, while new registrations for hybrid vehicles are on the decline. The same can be said of new registrations figures from June.

Norway remains the electric car nation number one with sales reaching new heights almost every month now and making for a considerable market share. In the month of May the trend continues, especially for all-electric cars, while hybrid vehicles are on the decline.

EV market share in Norway.
A market share of 16 percent for EVs in the first quarter of 2014 confirms Norway as the EV wonderland. However, this growth is the result of an on-going love affair with the electric car that started in the early 2000s already.

Once more Norway is hitting the ground running as the country boasts 5,75 percent EV market share compared to all vehicles in 2013. This gives the Scandinavian country the lead on 17 other countries where electric vehicles only take a share below one percent. Second best are the Netherlands where EV sales also continue to grow.
