Electric Vehicle Council calls for more EVs in Australia

More than 100 companies operating in Australia, including a number of car manufacturers, have joined forces to form a private-sector electric vehicle alliance. The newly formed Electric Vehicle Council is demanding a strong national electric vehicle strategy from the Australian government. The goal is to get one million electric vehicles on Australian roads by 2027.

New South Wales releases fast-charging funds

The New South Wales Government has followed up on its plan to help companies install ultra-fast charging bays across the Australian state. Round one funds have been released to help major beneficiaries install fast chargers at 86 locations along highways and urban centres.

German car rental company Sixt expands in Australia

Sixt announces its expansion in Australia through a franchise with the National Roads & Motorists’ Association (NRMA), the largest national automobile club. The cooperation will immediately give the German company a 13% market share and introduce one of the largest EV rental fleets in Australia.

Fast-charging network along Australia’s East Coast

Australia’s National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) has built 20 of a total of 40 EV stations planned along the spectacular South-East Coast of Australia. The network runs from Sydney, all the way through New South Wales and the Capital territory up to the Victorian border.
