Ireland launches first all electric bus service
Athlone, located in central Ireland around 100 kilometres west of Dublin, will become Ireland’s first city with an all-electric city bus fleet. From this Sunday, 29 January 2023, all bus operations in Athlone will be switched to eleven Enviro200EV electric solo buses supplied by BYD-ADL.

BYD ADL signs deal to deliver up to 200 e-buses to Ireland
The electric bus building partnership BYD ADL announces it has signed a framework agreement with the National Transport Authority of Ireland (NTA). The deal includes an option for up to 200 battery-electric buses while a firm order for 45 e-buses was agreed at the same time.

Ireland launches huge tender for electric double-deckers
Ireland’s national transport authority NTA published a tender for up to 800 all-electric double-decker buses for use in the country’s large cities, as well as on some town bus services. Buying is to start in the second half of 2022 over a period of five years.

ADL wins tender to deliver up to 600 green buses to Ireland
The Scottish bus maker Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) has signed a framework agreement with Ireland’s National Transport Authority (NTA) for the delivery of up to 600 double-decker hybrid buses. NTA expects the first 100 of the diesel-electric buses in Dublin in autumn 2020.
