Smart envisions a shared future as it reveals the Vision EQ Fortwo, an electric model in line with Daimler’s strategy to grow Car2Go massively until 2030. Level 5 autonomy and connectivity shall make the concept fit for a time when EVs collect passengers from any location and Smart says one of its small cars is hired every 1.4 seconds around the world already. The brand thus predicts car-sharing will increase fivefold by 2025 to more than 36.7m customers. For now, the Vision EQ Fortwo carries a rear-mounted electric motor and 30kWh lithium-ion battery for a range of around 300km.
