In the USA, Redwood Materials was approved for more than $105.6 million in tax incentives for its battery recycling and materials facility in Northern Nevada in exchange for $1.1 billion in capital investments at its Storey County facility.

Redwood launches recycling cooperation with Lyft

Recycling startup Redwood Materials, founded by former Tesla CTO JB Straubel, has entered into another collaboration. US ride broker and sharing provider Lyft will work with Redwood Materials to recycle end-of-life batteries from its e-bike and electric scooter-sharing fleets.

Redwood Materials closes in on search for sites in Europe

After Redwood Materials, founded by ex-Tesla CTO JB Straubel, announced in February that it would build at least two large-scale factories for recycling and battery material production in Europe, the search for a location appears to have narrowed considerably.

Redwood Materials announces cooperation with Toyota

The recycling start-up Redwood Materials, founded by former Tesla CTO JB Straubel, has gained another major partner from the automotive industry. Toyota Motor North America and Redwood will collaborate on the collection, reprocessing, recycling and supply of battery materials for electric car batteries.

Redwood Materials sources batteries from Ford & Volvo

Redwood Materials, founded by ex-Tesla CTO JB Straubel, has launched a recycling programme for electric and hybrid vehicle batteries in California. Ford and Volvo Cars are the first car manufacturers to support the programme with their batteries. Redwood is also calling on other manufacturers to join the programme.
