California sees first eHighway
Siemens and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) inaugurated a 1.6 km test track with an overhead catenary system made by Siemens. The eHighway stretches out in the Californian city of Carson, close to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

CCS charging at 150 kW: The Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN) founded by Audi, BMW, Daimler, Opel, Porsche, VW, TÜV Süd, Mennekes and Phoenix Contact presents results of the cooperation at ELIV in Germany: vehicles and equipment prepared to charge at up to 150 kW.
Pan-European charge card: The ACE (Auto Club Europe) together with The New Motion offers its members the ‘Power Me’ charging card for free. It allows charging at more than 25,000 EV charging stations across Europe. No monthly fee applies, but rates for charging depend on the operators.
Portable super charger: DigiNow and eMotorWerks have jointly developed the DigiNow Super Charger Charge Tank. The rapid charging unit fits into the Power Tank area of bikes by Zero Motorcycles and enables charging times of about an hour at 8kW.
Clean lawn: The California South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) delivers 17 commercial electric lawn mowers to agencies in San Bernardino County. SCAQMD seeks to gather data on fuel and cost saving as well as air quality improvements.
Hybrid Golf in Dubai: The Dubai Municipality will trial 10 newly arrived Golf GTE over the course of a year. If the Volkswagen hybrids prove fit for life in the desert, they will become a more common sight as Dubai aims to become a leading sustainable city.
