MAN announces future electrification strategy ‘NewMAN’
In future, MAN Truck & Bus will focus primarily on the areas of electromobility, autonomous vehicles and digital solutions. These are the cornerstones of a new strategy called ‘NewMAN’, which the commercial vehicle manufacturer from Munich, part of the Traton Group, has now presented.
Daimler, Traton & Volvo plan truck charging network
The three commercial vehicle manufacturers Daimler Truck, Traton and Volvo Group have signed a memorandum of understanding on the development and operation of a public high-performance charging network for battery-electric heavy-duty long-haul trucks and coaches in Europe.
Renault plans for electric truck in each segment by 2023
Renault Trucks intends to offer an all-electric range for each market segment (distribution, construction and long-haul) from 2023. To this end, the company has now created various departments specialised in electric mobility. Renault has also provided initial technical data for the Kangoo Rapid panel van.
Traton increases budget for electric vehicles
Volkswagen’s commercial vehicle subsidiary Traton has increased its investments in electromobility. The commercial vehicle manufacturer has now decided to invest 1.6 billion euros in research and development for e-mobility by 2025. Long-haul trucks will also be powered by batteries.
Traton takes over Navistar/ Expands in North America
Traton’s expansion into the North American market now finds itself on the home stretch: The Volkswagen commercial vehicle subsidiary has just signed a binding takeover agreement with the US commercial vehicle manufacturer Navistar. The transaction is expected to be completed in mid-2021.
Traton & Hino launch e-mobility joint venture
