General Motors announces expanding its ‘Ultium Charge 360’ service into a holistic ecosystem. The new Ultium Home and Ultium Commercial brands combined with EV charging now form the dedicated business unit GM Energy which integrates all charging needs in line with the grid.

VW introduces charging update off the production line
Soon, all electric models in VW’s ID. series will roll off the production line with a new software version that will bring advantages when charging. Most of the updates will be applied “over the air” to vehicles that have already been delivered.

Sono Motors developing V2X wall box in design survey
Sono Motors says it is working on a bidirectional AC wall box and is currently running a survey for customers to vote for their favourite design. The German company expects the home charger launch to coincide with Sono Motors’ Sion solar car coming to market in 2023.

Daimler launches EQS battery production
Shortly before the world premiere on 15 April 2021, Daimler has started battery production for its EV flagship Mercedes EQS. As part of the Untertürkheim site, the Hedelfingen plant section is responsible for battery system production for the EQS, followed by systems for the upcoming EQE model.
