Electric Mini? Together with Toyota, BMW wants to introduce a smaller version of the Mini called Minor, which might also be fitted with an electric drivetrain, according to Georg Kacher. Moreover, the 2016 Mini Countryman could feature a plug-in hybrid variant and the Superleggera is earmarked for early 2018.

No roads to Rome: The Italian capital has banned private cars within the ‘fascia verde’ (green belt) this coming Sunday, in an effort to curb pollution. Electric cars and carsharing vehicles will be allowed in the city, as well as petrol and diesel Euro 5 cars. The move will be repeated on 22nd of February.

Waiting for the Outlander PHEV: Instead of launching the plug-in SUV early 2016 as previously announced, it will not debut in the U.S. until Q2 of 2016. No official reason has been given, but Mitsubishi might want to wait to see what competitors put out there first to make its final adjustments.

Electric minivan for China: Car News China shows first images of the minivan Xin Longma Kaiteng EX80, which will be unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April and go on sale in China in the second half of the year. An all-electric variant is also planned.

Electric delivery truck: India’s Tata Motors will issue an all-electric version of its most popular light truck Ace in the next financial year. With a top speed of around 50 km/h, it will be much slower than its diesel cousins. Other technical details have not been announced yet.

Toyota-MiraiFuel cell powered Lexus? Having just released the Mirai, Toyota plans to phase in fuel-cell powered versions of other models, according to Motoring. The system could be used in the Lexus LS by 2017 as well as in Toyota models like the Corolla and Crown and in a large SUV over the next few years.

200,000 EVs by 2020 is the ambitious goal of South Korea’s latest policy package. Measurements include the extension of existing tax cuts, investments in infrastructure as well as a further electrification of vehicles purchased by public institutions. A pilot program on Jejudo Island will see battery leasing as well as the roll out of 119 electric buses and 1,000 electric taxis and rental cars by 2017.

Supercar to be electrified: Trion Supercars plans to launch its Nemesis by 2016. While the combustion engine version comes with 2,000 hp, an electric Nemesis E and a hybrid Nemesis ER are set to follow.

Electric minivan for China: Early next year, the Xin Longma Kaiteng M70 EV will hit the Chinese market. The electric minivan is the first of its kind and said to have a range of 190 km (118 miles) at a price of only 60,000 yuan (9,640 dollars) after incentives.

Bultaco e-bike: The Spanish brand is bringing the Brinco, an extra fast electric bike with a top speed of 60 km/h (37 miles). The 1-kWh Li-Ion battery provides a range of up to 100 kilometres (62 miles), but only in pedal-assist mode. A limited edition is scheduled for delivery in April for 4,800 euros (6,000 USD).

Mirai review: John Voelcker drove Toyota´s FCV and found it very similar to the Prius, be it the steering or the interior. However, the Mirai’s hydrogen system makes sounds which are unheard in a Prius.
