Electric cargo bike sharing: Carvelo2go kicked off in Bern, Switzerland. It claims to be the world’s first electric cargo bike sharing. 18 bikes are available for hire at host locations. The Mobility Academy involved in the project plans to bring the solutions to other cities and to eventually roll out carvelo2go nationwide.
Hybrid bus fleet: The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District has decided to acquire at least twelve diesel-electric hybrid buses over the next five years. Eventually, the transport provider might purchase as many as 47. The vehicles will come from Canadian New Flyer Industries.
Charging isles: Georgia Power opened eleven new EV charging stations located at its properties across the state. By the end of 2016, the utility intends to have installed 61 community charging islands across Georgia, where the public can charge for a fee.
Hydrogen package: ITM Power, SymbioFCell and Arcola Energy are teaming up to offer British fleet operators a full H2 package. It includes the Renault Kangoo Z.E. with fuel cell range extender, hydrogen refuelling and several other services.
Tesla opened two new Superchargers in Australia. The stations at Goulburn and Wodonga enable Model S drivers to travel between Sydney and Melbourne. In order to make it, owners will have to charge for about an hour at each spot.
