Mercedes Benz opens order books for its eVito

Mercedes Benz Vans, Daimler’s unit for light commercial vehicles, offers its mid-size eVito with a net price of 39,990 euros. The launch of the light commercial vehicles can be cleary understood as an answer to Deutsche Post’s StreetScooter.

The 84 kW all-electric van features a battery with 41.4 kWh capacity and shall reach up to 150 km on a single charge. Even facing bad weather conditions (e.g. very low temperatures) or carrying maximum load, the range shall still be 100 km, according to the manufacturer.

First deliveries are scheduled fot the second half of 2018. As for the Vito, Mercedes-Benz Vans plans to electrify all its commercial van model lines. The next models to follow the eVito are the Sprinter and the Citan. Both are supposed to be offered with an electric drivetrain by 2019.

All good and well, MB B250e was a great car but as they didn't want it to work there was no usable charging equipment. Do they want it to work now?
