Hyundai accelerates on the electrification trail

The Korean carmaker says it wants to invest 17.6 bn euros over the next five years to advance technologies such as electric and autonomous vehicles as well as artificial intelligence. In total, Hyundai wants to employ 45,000 more workers by 2023.

Reuters quotes government circles in Korea that say further investments are planned for battery and hydrogen technology. Also start-ups are going to be co-financed.
