Peugeot has just presented the new Plug-in-Hybrid 3008 GT Hybrid4, which can now be ordered in France and in Germany from October onwards. The electric range of the part-time electric SUV is to be up to 59 kilometres in the WLTP cycle.

Like the DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4 and the Opel Grandland X Hybrid4, the Peugeot 3008 GT Hybrid4 is based on the EMP2 platform and has the same powertrain as the two sister models from the PSA Group.

The plug-in hybrid SUV with all-wheel drive is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 147 kW and two electric motors. The front electric motor is coupled to the new e-EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission and achieves an output of 81 kW, while the second electric motor is connected to the rear driveline and provides an output of 83 kW. The system output is 220 kW. According to the manufacturer, the battery capacity of 13.2 kWh enables the purely electric WLTP range of up to 59 kilometres. On a wallbox, the plug-in hybrid battery should be fully recharged within 3.5 hours. Optionally, the charging capacity of the single-phase AC onboard charger can be doubled to 7.4 kW. The charging time is then halved accordingly.

The Hybrid4 engine is only available in combination with the highest equipment level GT. A few months after its introduction, however, the Hybrid4 model will be supplemented by a version with a two-wheel drive. This Peugeot 3008 Hybrid will be equipped with a 133 kW petrol engine and an 81 kW electric motor coupled to the e-EAT8.
