London’s Go Ahead to sport new BYD-ADL buses

Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) and BYD Europe have announced the delivery of 11 zero-emission battery-electric buses to Go-Ahead London.

Go Ahead is the largest bus company in London, providing around a quarter of the cities buses. The new single-deck 9.6-metre model is the child of the BYD-ADL partnership. The 11 buses have 24 seats and an overall capacity for 66 passengers.

The bus in question, the BYD ADL Enviro200EV, has a range of 150 miles or roughly 241 kilometres per charge. The purely electric bus has a drivetrain comprising 330 kWh electric motor and BYD iron-phosphate batteries.

Isbrand Ho, Managing Director at BYD Europe said, “Our BYD ADL Enviro200EV is well suited to a wide range of public transport operations and is becoming the battery-powered single decker of choice for a number of UK customers.”
