The Mercedes Benz electric car charging service in the UK is now hooked up with BP Chargemaster’s Polar network. This gives British customers access to the network on a single subscription. BP Chargemaster will also install private and business charging points for Mercedes customers.

BP Chargemaster will install home charging wall boxes, workplace charge points for fleets and businesses and charging infrastructure at Mercedes-Benz retail sites. This includes Smart home charge units, which allows customers to take advantage of dynamic energy tariffs. PB Chargemaster will also install workplace charge points to provide visibility of charging across electric vehicle fleets.

Jason Allbutt, Head of Product Management Mercedes-Benz Cars UK said “With the launch of our first EQ SUV, it was important to help consumers with public charging accessibility. With Mercedes me Charge, customers no longer need individual subscriptions to charging networks, and can now access many charge points via the vehicle’s head unit or the Mercedes me app.”

Mercedes Me Charge is being offered as an optional subscription solution to provide basic pay-as-you-go access to the Polar network, where customers may upgrade to a Polar Plus membership to access 7,000 charging points across the UK. Access to charge points comes with either the Mercedes Me Charge card, the Mercedes Me app, or the vehicle’s own display with integrated payment function.
