VW runs out of EVs

Originally, Volkswagen had called on its managers to choose cars that were as CO2-friendly as possible as company cars. A special rule on this was already softened in June due to the lack of available EV models.

Now the situation has apparently worsened due to the electric boom and the chip shortage: Volkswagen just informed its approximately 18,000 managers that electric and hybrid models will “probably not be available for order” as company cars until the end of 2022.

Yey. VW massively underestimated demand for EVs. I wonder what is happening at other manufacturers then?

18000 managers is way to much. Elon musk got rid of most of the managers at Tesla back in 2018 in order to reduce costs. More Indians and less chiefs is way more efficient and economical. He'd rather have mechanical engineers than people with MBA's and VW will do the same.
