US cuts BYD out of e-bus funding schemes

The US Government has cut off Chinese manufacturers from funding programs for electric buses. This will hit BYD particularly hard despite having assembled electric buses in the US for years. The most likely “winner” will be Proterra.

Federal transit officials say the funding ban won’t slow the transition to electric buses but will likely cause disruptions because BYD is a major player in the industry.
