Forsee Power introduces battery for maritime use

Forsee Power now offers its Pulse 2.5 battery module in a version certified by the international classification society DNV for marine use. The Pulse module uses lithium titanate cells.

The Pulse 2.5 Marine is equipped with Toshiba LTO cells and a liquid cooling system developed by Forsee Power that allows 15,000 cycles over more than twelve years. The module offers 6C continuous discharge current and 10C peak discharge current. Thanks to its slim design, the battery module is said to be adaptable to many installation spaces.

According to Forsee, the DNV certification offers “the guarantee of compliant products”. In the maritime sector, the harsh weather conditions at sea would require robust batteries “that are compatible with water, condensation and humidity”. Therefore, the guarantees required by DNV in terms of construction and safety are very high. For the “Marine” module, Forsee has made some changes compared to the “Road” module for use in road vehicles.
