Lucid Motors opens up shop in Switzerland

The US electric car manufacturer Lucid Motors has opened its first sales outlet in Switzerland. The Lucid Studio at Cours de Rive 10 in Geneva is the company’s second location in Europe after the store in Munich, which opened in May 2022.

Further expansion in Europe is planned for the future, including additional locations in major European cities besides Geneva and Munich. “The response to Lucid at the recent preview event in Zurich has been tremendous, which reflects the country’s unique embrace of luxury, innovation and the environment,” said Zak Edson, vice president of sales and service at Lucid Group. He added that he was seeing a growing number of Lucid Air reservations in Switzerland.

Soon, reservation holders could also receive the electric sedan. Lucid is expected to deliver the first vehicles in Europe by the end of 2022, according to the latest announcement. Customers in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK can secure their place on the waiting list for the Lucid Air in Pure, Touring and Grand Touring variants.

Lucid does not mention the company’s second model, the Gravity electric SUV, in the announcement about the Swiss location. Lucid had recently announced that reservations would be possible from 2023. In addition, first pictures were published.

The company had already presented its concept for pure direct sales and the locations called ‘Lucid Studios’ in March 2020. At that time, the first of these showrooms was opened at the company’s headquarters in Newark, California.
