Ram closes reservations for Ram 1500 REV

Ram Truck no longer accepts reservations or pre-orders for its all-electric pickup truck, the Ram 1500 REV. Demand is apparently so high that the manufactured had close access to the “Ram REV Insider+ Membership”.

This comes only a week after the company presented a first look at the vehicle during the Super Bowl. From then, customers were able to put down a 100-dollar refundable deposit in order to get a spot on the reservation list. Moreover, Ram, the US commercial vehicle subsidiary of the Stellantis Group, promised these customers access to the “Insider +” programme, where they would get exclusive information about the vehicle.

It is not clear how many people pre-ordered the electric truck, but apparently enough for Ram to (at least temporarily) close its ordering books.

The Ram 1500 REV will hit the road in the US in 2024. And while the pickup was presented as a concept in January and the first images of it were published last week – any technical details have yet to be released.

Following the preview on Sunday, Ram CEO Mike Koval spoke to US media outlet Fox News, saying that “the percentage of EV adoptions in the [truck] segment continues to grow” and that when the carmaker launches its all-electric pickup next year, Ram will be “right and that intersection of when the demand is right and the maturity of infrastructure and the market place is in a much better spot [than now]”.
