Stellantis confirms battery joint venture with Samsung SDI
Stellantis has now officially confirmed plans to establish another joint venture in North America for the production of battery cells and modules. In addition to a corresponding cooperation with LG Energy Solution, Stellantis also wants to build a new battery factory in North America with Samsung SDI, as previously leaked.
Further Stellantis brands to go fully electric
At the presentation of its business figures for the first half of the year, Stellantis gave new details on its electrification strategy. Accordingly, DS Automobiles will only launch pure BEVs on the market from 2024. Alfa Romeo is to become an all-electric car brand from 2027.
Stellantis to invest €30 billion in e-mobility
Stellantis has presented its new electrification strategy. The multi-brand group wants to achieve 70 per cent of its sales in Europe and 40 per cent in the USA with “low emission vehicles” by 2030. In Europe, Opel is to become an electric brand by 2028.
Will Fiat Chrysler use Tesla technology?
It is looking like Fiat Chrysler might buy the use of a Tesla technology for its brands’ electric cars. During a conversation with stock analysts, FCA boss Mike Manley revealed that his company was considering this option. It would not be the first partnership between the two companies.
