Tesla has started delivering the revised Model S and Model X to customers in China. There, the new edition of the Model S is available at prices starting at 789,000 yuan, while the new Model X starts at 879,900 yuan.

That is currently the equivalent of 105,700 euros for the Model S and 117,870 euros for the Model X. These are the prices for the twin-engine long-range versions. In the case of the Model S, the Model S with the three-motor Plaid powertrain costs 1,009,900 yuan (135,290 euros) in China, while the Model X Plaid is available from 1,039,900 yuan or 139,300 euros.

The vehicles that have now been delivered to Chinese customers, according to a Tesla post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, are imported vehicles: the Model S and Model X are known to be built only at the factory in Fremont, California. The Giga Shanghai only produces the Model 3 and Model Y.

Currently, however, only a very limited number of Model S and X are available in China. As the CN EV Post writes, the port authority in Tianjin had announced in the middle of the month that a batch of 867 new Teslas had arrived. Tesla itself shared a video from the port in its Weibo post, but gave no further details. According to the Chinese Tesla website, a current order placed will be delivered in the second quarter (i.e. starting next week).

In the USA, Tesla had already started deliveries of the new editions of Model S and X in mid-2021, and at the end of 2022 in Europe.
