The Swedish city of Kristianstad will receive 23 electric buses. The order was placed by the VR Kristianstad transport company and goes to the Polish manufacturer Solaris. The order includes a total of 20 Urbino 15 Electric and three Urbino 12 Electric buses.

Delivery of the vehicles is scheduled for July 2024. This will also be the first Solaris electric buses to be used in the southern Swedish city.

The Urbino 15 LE electric is an electric bus designed to run on both city and intercity routes. The vehicle will feature batteries with a capacity of over 550 kWh providing for maximum autonomy and efficiency. The Urbino 12 electric bus is, in turn, the most popular low-floor city electric model in the zero-emission range of Solaris. The 12-metre bus will be fitted with batteries with a capacity of over 400 kWh. The energy storage units of both models will be charged with a power output of 130 kW via a plug-in connector.

“Every new city that decides to invest in zero-emission Solaris vehicles is another token of trust and the best proof of the high quality of our products. We are very pleased to be a partner in transforming local public transport to become more sustainable,” said Olivier Michard, Member of the Management Board for Sales, Marketing and After Sales at Solaris Bus & Coach
