ChargePoint will start delivering cable conversion kits for existing NACS fast-chargers in the US in November. That way, Tesla drivers could soon use DC chargers outside the Supercharger network.

The company will also start delivering AC wallboxes, called Home Flex, with NACS connectors next month. The latter negates “the need for a cumbersome adapter to charge,” ChargePoint writes in its media statement, and, according to the website, “works with every NACS-enabled EV on the market.”

“With more than 35 million historical ChargePoint sessions initiated by Tesla vehicles, we saw the need to offer native connector solutions for this large portion of the EV market,” says Pasquale Romano, CEO of ChargePoint. “Our support for both installed and new products opens up ChargePoint’s DC chargers to millions of drivers who have not yet had a fast charging alternative to the Tesla ecosystem, and makes their AC charging experience more convenient.”

In mid-June, ChargePoint announced it would offer a NACS plug option for its products, “with low-cost upgrades available in the field for chargers already in service.”
