However, a little patience is required before the new buses are put into service in the Czech city: both companies have announced that the first 14 trolleybuses will be delivered in the first half of next year. The remaining buses will be delivered to the public transport operator Dopravní podnik města České Budějovice (DPMCB) by mid-2026.

The purchase of the new trolleybuses is part of the plans to modernise the fleet and electrify other public transport lines in the city. The new 18-metre Skoda 33Tr models will replace old buses and complement the existing fleet of 57 trolleybuses.

The order is worth 28.5 million euros, according to the Skoda Group. It is the largest investment “in the history of the city’s transport operator,” according to the public transport operator. However, this was only made possible by EU funding. The amount of funding was not disclosed.
