Tesla hands over first Model Y Juniper in Europe
The first vehicle was handed over on Friday, as Tesla announced on its social media accounts. In the days leading up to the event, numerous trucks transporting Model Y Junipers had already been spotted on German motorways. As Tesla locations had already been supplied with display and demonstration vehicles in recent weeks, it was clear that deliveries would soon start. Deliveries from factories in China and North America already started several days ago.
The ‘Launch Series,’ which has been available to order since January and which Tesla launched to mark the start of the facelift of its bestseller, is currently being delivered. Other variants can now also be ordered, but deliveries will kick off at a later date. In the UK, the first ‘Launch Series’ models will only be delivered starting in May, with the ‘regular’ equipment variants to follow in June. Prices there start at 44.990 pounds for the rear-wheel drive version.

There are high expectations for the revised Model Y, as the electric SUV from Giga Berlin has been by far the best-selling Tesla model in Europe. However, registration figures have recently collapsed, with Tesla selling only 1,429 vehicles in Germany in February 2025, 76.3 per cent fewer than in February 2024. As reported, 1,035 Model Ys were newly registered (which means 7th place), compared to 5,408 vehicles in February 2024. EU-wide, Tesla sold 7,517 BEVs, which is a decline of 50 per cent. The impact of Elon Musk’s political activities and the upcoming facelift on buyer sentiment is yet to be ascertained. With the start of deliveries and the production ramp-up of the facelift, we will be able to assess demand more accurately. In a few months, we will know how high it really is.
To sell off the pre-facelift examples of the Model Y from stock, Tesla offers zero per cent financing (New Juniper: 5.9 per cent APR with balloon loan) and one year of free fast charging at its own Superchargers. The offer is “valid for pre-configured Model Y ordered from March 6, 2025 and with delivery up to and including March 31, 2025,” Tesla says. The usual conditions apply. The promotion is thus not only linked to a vehicle, but also officially to the originally named driver – free Supercharging is thus not transferable in the event of a change of ownership.
