The partnership focuses on destination charging, aiming to align with the habits of BM Supermercados customers by providing charging options while they shop. The first 133 charging points have already been installed and are now operational in BM supermarket car parks across the Spanish regions of Madrid, the Basque Country, and Cantabria.

“This agreement with BM is a clear example of how collaboration with the retail sector allows us to continue bringing ultra-fast charging to everyday environments and facilitate real, accessible electric mobility adapted to users’ habits,” said Zunder CEO Daniel Pérez.

Zunder has installed both AC chargers for slower charging and DC chargers for faster charging at BM supermarkets. This approach caters to customers in a hurry, who can use the DC charging stations for a quick top-up, as well as those who spend more time shopping and find the AC charging speed sufficient.

Through this partnership, Zunder aims to expand its charging network while increasing its presence in high-traffic urban and commercial areas. This strategy is designed to integrate Zunder’s services more seamlessly into the daily lives of electric vehicle drivers.

Zunder was founded in Spain in 2017 with the goal of advancing electric mobility by building a reliable and user-friendly charging network in regions often overlooked by larger providers. In 2022, the company received a €100 million capital injection from French sustainability investor Mirova, intending to become a leading fast-charging provider in Southern Europe. At the end of 2024, Zunder opened its largest fast-charging hub to date in the northern Spanish city of Oviedo, featuring 36 HPC connectors.
