Panasonic has just signed a deal with the Californian battery material specialist and Mercedes-Benz partner Sila Nanotechnologies for its silicon-dominated anode material called Titan Silicon. The Japanese battery-making giant is looking to replace a higher proportion of graphite in battery anode material with silicon to enhance energy density, and to keep production loops in the USA.
