General Motors has opened a factory in Shanghai to assemble batteries for their growing EV production in China. The factory, which is operated by the joint venture partners SAIC-GM is the second of its kind set up by GM.

Hi-tech recycling of Li-ion batteries at Redux
Saubermacher and Redux Recycling have installed a battery recycling plant in the German town of Bremerhaven after jointly researching the process over years. The plant is capable of processing all types of lithium-ion batteries and has a capacity of 10,000t a year.

EDF investing €16M in hydrogen specialist McPhy

Posco to construct 2nd cathode factory in Korea

Panasonic to cut all cobalt from EV batteries

Hyundai to produce its own electric car batteries?
Hyundai is looking to not only develop but also make its own battery cells for electric vehicles, Korean media reports. The carmaker had started hiring researchers on battery development and production already earlier this year and plans to set up first lines in its lab. Equipment has been ordered as well.
