No more sitting in traffic jam.

U.S. company Krossblade Aerospace Systems has developed a flying hybrid car concept that takes off and lands vertically. So if there is a traffic jam, it can literally fly past it. And with an alleged flying speed of 300 mph, it is the fastest car-plane out there.

An electric golf cart pimped by Plum Quick Motors gets you across golf courses rather quickly. Hitting 118.76 mph, it set a new Guinness world record for fastest golf cart. Just don’t get stuck in sand pit on your way to the finish line!

Rolling submarine.

Normally, electricity and water are a bad combination. But this electric submarine sports car is quite nifty. The cabriolet can swim, dive (you don’t even have to roll up the windows) and of course drive on the street – and it comes with a price tag just shy of two million dollars.

Head to head.

Lexus again pokes fun at its plug-in cousins. In its newest ad, the company compares its hybrid CT 200h to the all-electric BMW i3 and of course focuses on the shorter driving range of the BEV. Interestingly it appears they used an i3 REx for the video, and photoshopped out the gas filler flap – in most scenes.

Canyonero Hybrid available.

Springfield’s streets are getting greener, as the fictional Canyonero is now available as a hybrid. The Simpson’s SUV is said to measure 12 yards and weigh 65 tons – therefor the hybrid’s 11 mpg specs are actually not bad at all.

A Chevy Volt owner in Detroit has had power in her garage cut off by the Homeowners Association. She agreed to pay around 50 dollars, but when the HOA told her that the costs associated with charging her car were too much and presented her a 200 dollar bill, she refused to pay.

Recalling the recalled.

We have gotten used to write about recalls, but this tops previous reports. Ford is re-recalling nearly 40,000 vehicles in the U.S., to inspect steering shafts that could break and cause loss of steering. Ford said that after making the repairs, it discovered the way it had fixed them was “improper.”

Anti-Tesla.

A group trying to make the EV look bad has sprung to life in Norway. It tells members that the Model S “is harmful to the environment.” Their motto – no one can proof they’re wrong. And if sources are needed, they have found some credible looking ones that they emailed to their followers. It’s all very credible, indeed…

The flying car Aeromobil 3.0 was presented in Vienna, Austria. It needs only 200 meters for take-off and a mere 50 meters for landing. The final price is said to fall “somewhere in between the price of a supercar and a small plane”. Unfortunately it’s not electric.
