EV maker Nio is building a unique infrastructure for electric cars in China and Europe, setting up its Power Swap Stations for rapid battery changes. And with the ET5 sedan, Nio is bringing its swap technology to the 50,000 euro segment. But to boil the ET5 down to battery swapping falls far short of the mark. During our test drive, we noticed a few of the Chinese sedan’s other advantages – but also its weaknesses.
