BMW to launch i7 with rear-wheel drive in July
According to the German carmaker, the new BMW i7 eDrive50 offers a maximum output of 335 kW and comes with a range of 575 to 611 kilometres in WLTP. In the USA, both i7 and i4 customers also have the option of a boosted variant with longer ranges.

Mercedes releases Plug&Charge for PHEV models
The latest Mercedes PHEV now offer Plug&Charge via the ISO 15118 standard. The roll-out follows the earlier updates of the all-electric EQS and EQE models. The C- and S-Class plug-in hybrids now only need an over-the-air update, the new GLC supports Plug&Charge ex works.

Alpitronic’s hyperchargers pass Plug&Charge audit
Alpitronic’s HYC150 (150 kW) and HYC300 (300 kW) Hyperchargers have successfully passed Hubject’s audit for Plug&Charge and are now fully certified. This means that more than 10,000 already installed Hyperchargers can be retrofitted by the end of 2022.

EO Charging set for smart charging older EVs

CharIN recognises Dekra testing lab for charging
The European CharIN organisation has recognised the German standards inspection company Dekra as a testing laboratory for charging infrastructure. Dekra is now one of the first two laboratories that can perform conformance tests for the Combined Charging System (CCS) and issue CharIN CCS certificates.

Partners pledge to implement Plug&Charge across Europe
