Enel X partners up with Ionity and Smatrics

The Italian energy supplier Enel has signed agreements with both Ionity and Smatrics via its subsidiary Enel X: from now on, Enel X customers can also charge at the German and Austrian suppliers’ charging stations.

Tesla raises Model 3 charge capacity to 200 kW

Since last weekend, Tesla has been installing a new firmware update for Model 3 already delivered in Europe. This means that charging capacities of up to 200 kW are now also possible with third-party suppliers – at least at a few locations.

UK: IONITY opens first HPC EV charging park

Ionity has opened its first high power charging park in the UK with four charging stations with up to 350 kW capacity. The CCS charging park is located in Maidstone, Kent Kent and Ionity say it will soon add locations at Milton Keynes and Gretna Green.

Tritium to supply a further 120 Ionity charging parks

Tritium has signed a contract with Ionity for the supply of its HPC chargers for a further 120 charging parks. Last year, the joint venture already commissioned the Australian company to equip 100 sites. In addition, Tritium has received another order from Nissan.

Ionity secures funding for EUROP-E charging network

Tritium is refitting its chargers at Ionity charging sites with liquid-cooled cables that will enable charging capacities of up to 350 kW. The first site with the new cables was recently opened in Nyborg, Denmark, as Ionity has confirmed to our German colleagues at electrive.net.

SPIE is supporting IONITY infrastructure

The SPIE Group has received an order from Ionity to support the planned construction of 400 HPC sites in Europe by 2020. The French installation and maintenance specialist will take care of the installation and wiring of charging stations and the grid connection.

Huber+Suhner liquid-cooled HPC cables prove safe

After a potential safety issue was discovered regarding the liquid-cooled cables produced by Huber+Suhner, several major charging infrastructure operators shut down the affected stations. Now the manufacturer has confirmed “correct functionality of the system and proved that the series products supplied by HUBER+SUHNER meet the required standards without any restrictions.”

Italy’s petrochemical company Eni announces a framework agreement with Ionity. The high power charging network will use Eni pit stops to install their ultra-fast charging stations. For now they plan a total of 30 HPC stations with six charge columns each.

In cooperation with Ionity, Shell has officially opened their first high power charging park in France. The eight new HPC stations are located at the shell gas stations Chartres-Bois and Chartres-Gasville, about 90 minutes south of Paris.

Ionity cooperating with Cepsa to outfit gas stations

The high power charging network Ionity will cooperate with the Spanish Compañía Española de Petróleos to outfit their petrol stations with up to 100 HPC charging points in Spain and Portugal. The first chargers will go into operation by the start of 2019.

Finland: Kesko joins IONITY ultra-fast charging network

Finland’s retailer K Group joins the IONITY high power charging network as they plan to install ultra-fast charging stations at three of their Kesko stores. The locations close to highways will complement the K-Charge network and deliver up to 350 kW.
