LimeBike to bring 500 Pedelecs to Seattle

The Californian bike-sharing startup LimeBike, which already holds approximately 3,000 bicycles in Seattle, will be starting roll-out of their first 500 pedal electric bikes, which they will be calling Lime-E.

Uber considering e-bike sharing model

The ride share conglomerate is reportedly considering expanding into electric bicycles. In San Francisco a pilot project is to start offering the rental and sharing of ebikes in cooperation with the bike-sharing company Jump Bikes, whose 250 Pedelec electric bicycles can be rented through the Uber app.

Stockholm gets one of a kind e-bike sharing

5,000 hire electric bicycles will be rolled out in the Swedish capital in 2018 and 2019 after the current contract for the 1,200 regular rental bikes will finish this year. The pedelecs are marketed as “Hybrid Bikes” not only for their muscle-electric propulsion system but also because their batteries can be removed.

Start them off young.

Who says bike-sharing is only for grown-ups? Paris now offers kids’ bikes at five locations, as part of its Velib’ bike-sharing scheme. From bikes with training wheels to balance bikes – with ‘P’tit Velib,’ children can learn to share. A skill they will hopefully not forget as they get older.
