Volkswagen plans to produce a total of three million fully electric small cars at its Spanish plants in Martorell and Pamplona between 2025 and 2030. The total number is likely to be even higher with the entry-level model announced for 2027 – even though it may not be built in Spain.

According to a German media report, the all-electric VW ID.2 will start at less than €25,000 when it launches in 2025. And the carmaker allegedly has plans for an even cheaper EV, currently referred to as the ID.1, which could launch in 2027 and start at less than €20,000.

The Volkswagen Group and Seat have given the green light to invest ten billion euros in e-mobility in Spain. The investments announced in May were previously dependent on the Spanish government’s funding under the PERTE eMobility funding programme, which was recently released.
