Amazon’s new delivery drone (video)
Amazon has just demonstrated its newest fully electric delivery drone at the re:Mars conference in Las Vegas. The drone is to fly up to 25 kilometres and be able to deliver parcels weighing up to 2.3 kilograms within 30 minutes. Amazon did not specify where the “Prime Air” service would start.

Boeing unveils electric-powered cargo drone (video)
U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing presents the prototype of an unmanned VTOL model, capable of carrying a payload of up to 225 kilos. The aircraft’s dimensions are 4.57 x 5.49 x 1.22 metres, it weighs 339 kilos and features eight counter rotating blades.
Skype founders Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis’ newest venture Starship Technologies presented a delivery robot, trying to counter others’ drone delivery ambitions. Hopefully the the six-wheeled, electric and autonomous robots will also have some manners as in carrying groceries up the stairs, although for now there is only talk of “curb-side” deliveries.
