The electric vehicle manufacturer Electra Meccanica (EMV) will cease the production of its three-wheeled EV ‘Solo.’ Instead, EMV wants to focus on an electric car with four wheels.
Canadian company Electra Meccanica has commenced the first commercial deliveries of its single-seat Solo electric vehicle as part of an unveiling event held in Los Angeles, California on 4 October. Electra Meccanica will continue to ramp production with investor and manufacturing partner Zongshen Industrial Group.
Better late than never – it is hard to put it any other way with this electric trike called Solo from the Canadian company Electra Meccanica. While first reports date back to 2016 and again 2018 when deliveries were set to start, it took until today for production to take off.
The Chinese EV startup is looking to enter the stock market and is aiming for an investment sum of 1.8 billion dollars. The application paperwork is currently underway.

New player on e-van market: The electric truck business is brewing in Europe and SAIC decided to add its Maxus EV80 to the mix.
