Teco and partners develop H2 fuel cell ship
The Norwegian company Teco 2030 is leading a consortium with partners Umoe Mandal and Blom Maritime to develop a hydrogen-powered high-speed ship with the help of government funding of 5 million kroner (just under 500,000 euros).

Toyota officially joins hydrogen catamaran project EODev
Toyota Motor Europe is a new shareholder in the start-up Energy Observer Developments (EODev). The French company was founded in 2019 with the aim of driving research and development of the H2 catamaran Energy Observer, for which Toyota is supplying the fuel cell technology.

Alva Yachts launch e-catamarans & floating villas
The German company Alva Yachts, a decidedly electric boat builder, has just launched its first electric watercraft. Alva Yachts’ debut models are the electric catamarans Ocean Eco 60 and Ocean Eco 90 and the hybrid sailing yacht, Ocean Sail 82.

Toyota delivers fuel cell for electric catamaran
Toyota has equipped the ship ‘Energy Observer’ with a new fuel cell drive. The electric catamaran will start on the next leg of its world tour in mid-February and claims to be “the first energy-autonomous hydrogen boat”.

Norway: Electric catamaran Future of Fjords launch
The all-electric catamaran called the Future of Fjords has been launched just as planned. Its carbon fibre hull has space for 400 passengers and the electric ferry will sail between Norway’s UNESCO heritage sites and opportunity charge at sea.

Solar electric catamaran launches in Bora Bora (video)
