California sets the course for ICE exit
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has now passed the regulation ‘Advanced Clean Cars II’, which defines the path for the ban on internal combustion engine (ICE) cars in the US state from 2035 onwards. However, the ban on internal combustion vehicles has been softened.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has unveiled expanded plans for investment in electric mobility. The US state is investing an additional 6.1 billion US dollars in electric vehicles and infrastructure. This brings the total budget for this area to ten billion US dollars.

No more ‘small off-road engines’ for Californian lawns
Californian Governor Gavin Newsom has just signed a ban for ‘small off-road engines’ (SORE) primarily used in gas-powered lawn equipment. The measure also includes generators and emergency response equipment and other “assorted categories”, but also allows some leeway with the regulations based on what is found to be technologically feasible.

US states fight back to reduce emissions despite Trump
California and 22 other US states have now filed lawsuits against the Trump administration, who is trying to deny them the right to set their own – higher – emissions standards. California’s Governor Gavin Newsom has also just signed two laws to tighten emission standards for trucks and other vehicles.
