The Polish municipal association Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia (GZM) has ordered 32 electric buses and the associated charging infrastructure from Solaris. The 12- and 18-meter-long Urbino electric are to be used by operators from Gliwice, Katowice, Sosnowiec, Świerklaniec from 2023.

Solaris has received another electric bus order from Poland. Katowice’s public transport operator PKM needs five Solaris Urbino 12 electric to complement the ten e-buses already ordered by the capital of Silesia. They are set for delivery in Q2/2021.

Solaris has turned an electric bus into a mobile blood donation center. It is the first of two vehicles of this type commissioned by the Regional Blood Donation Centre (RCKiK) in Katowice, Poland and has already won an innovation award.
