Revel launches scooter fleet in Austin
The New York startup Revel has launched in the Texan capital with a fleet of 1,000 electric scooters (as in mopeds, not kick scooters) in a vehicle-sharing scheme. Revel already has 1,000 electric scooters on New York’s streets and 400 more in Washington DC.

StoreDot can recharge an e-scooter in 5 minutes
The BP-funded Israeli battery developer StoreDot has apparently fully charged an electric scooter from Torrot in just five minutes. Ordinarily, the Spanish scooter maker Torrot specifies a charging time of four hours.

Austria: Auto club ÖAMTC launches e-scooter sharing
Austria’s largest automobile association ÖAMTC has rolled out their own electric scooter sharing. People in Vienna can now rent 150 light electric vehicles with another 15 being available in Graz. The ‘easy way’ service works via mobile app.

Torrot launches electric trail bike Movak
Torrot is working on an all-electric motorbike. The Movak performs at 5 kW with a battery that lasts for 120 km riding both on the trail and on the road. The firm is accepting pre-orders for a deposit of 600 euros, less than a tenth of the estimated price of 7,900 euros.
