UK: First Bus orders nearly 200 e-buses from Wrightbus

British transport company First Bus has ordered 193 electric buses worth £81 million from Northern Irish bus builder Wrightbus. The order is part-funded through the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Zero Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) scheme.

ZEBRA: UK Gov’ funds nearly 1,000 zero-emission buses

The British Government, through its Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme, has granted £198Mn to twelve towns and cities. The money will fund 943 battery-electric and hydrogen buses plus associated infrastructure and is the largest funding route to date.

UK funds zero-emission buses with £71 m.

The British government is funding five local transport authorities with a total of almost £71 million to support the introduction of up to 335 zero-emission buses as part of the Zero Emission Bus Regional Area programme.

£32Mn in funding for e-buses headed to Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes will see the arrival of 60 new electric buses in 2022 after a £16Mn bid by the MK Council in partnership with Arriva has been successful. Another £16Mn will be available through a special finance arrangement that will be offered to MK, bringing funding to £32Mn, nearly €38Mn.

ZEBRA to bring electric buses to South America

The ZEBRA (Zero Emission Bus Rapid-deployment Accelerator) project, led by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) and C40 Cities, is dedicated to accelerating the rollout of electric buses in Latin America. Phase one focuses on four cities.
