PlugSurfing expands into France: PlugSurfing has signed an Interoperable Agreement with French company Sodetrel, adding another 1,600 charging point to its network. The former enables EV drivers to plug in in Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, using the same account.

Electric transport in Mexico: 25 electric trolley buses have gone into service in the Mexican city of Guadalajara. They were built by local manufacturer DINA together with Škoda Electric, which delivered all electric components. Final assembly took place in Mexico City.

Shifting burden of proof: The Canadian city of Ottawa wants more electric and hybrid vehicles in its fleets and will oblige staff to buy greener cars. Purchases of petrol- or diesel-powered cars need to be explicitly justified. Moreover, the city is setting up a ‘green fleet fund’ to cover any cost difference.

H2 coalition update: Norwegian companies NEL Fuel AS and Uno-X have formed a joint venture to set up a total of 20 hydrogen filling stations across the country. The hydrogen will be produced on site. The companies had previously signed a letter of intent and are now ready to start a “real, commercial network of hydrogen refuelling stations in Norway.”

Self-driving city: The U.S. city Lincoln, Nebraska, hopes to decide the Smart City Challenge for itself. If successful, it would use the 50m dollars from the Department of Transportation and Vulcan Philanthropy to put 50 autonomous shuttles and 650 self-driving cars on the read in three years. All-electric of course.

EV-Box takes Amsterdam: Infrastructure provider EV-Box has opened a new head quarter in Amsterdam. The city commissioned to company along with Nuon-Heijmans to set up 4,000 EV charging points by 2018 (we reported). Some 1,500 are already in service.
