Tesla launches recruiting campaign for Gigafactory

The California-based EV maker stepped up efforts to find employees for its huge battery factory that it runs together with Panasonic in the desert of Nevada – first of all engineers and production assistants.

The campaign is due to the fact that Tesla plans to ramp up battery production towards 35 GWh within the present year and to soon build complete powertrains for the Model 3.

In August, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed that the so-called Gigafactory 1 reached already the status of the biggest battery factory worldwide in terms of output – although to that time, just 30 percent of its final dimensions were completed. However, Musk did not unveil specific figures about the Gigafactory’s production capacity.
