After half a year of testing with more than 20,000 passengers, the ride-share service SSB Flex by the Daimler subsidiary Moovel will begin regular service as part of the Stuttgart public transportation system.

The mobility service allows customers to book rides according to need via an app, and, according to Daimler, is the first on-demand service in Germany that transports people with a line-permission conforming to the German personnel transportation law.

Ten white and yellow Mercedes vehicles will be used to begin with. Next to regular V-Class vans there are also B-Class models in use with an electric motor. A similar service will be started by ViaVan in Berlin in cooperation with the BVG with the title BerlKönig.
