&Charge: Porsche Digital’s first e-mobility loyalty scheme
The start-up &Charge is the latest spin-off from Porsche Digital and expands their electric transport portfolio. The new company with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main offers the first loyalty program for e-mobility in Europe.
Users processing purchases, bookings and other transactions via the &Charge platform online receive so-called Kilometer – think Miles and More or Starbucks Rewards. You can then redeem these points as charge credits for electric vehicles or free trips with rental e-scooters and car-sharing services.
The platform is currently available in Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. Other countries are to follow shortly, according to Porsche. Already a large number of companies have joined the initiative as partners. The company’s portfolio now includes more than 600 e-commerce partners and eleven mobility providers, says the press information. The team is currently working to integrate local offers such as vouchers for restaurants in the South of Germany, Porsche’s home.
The start-up first made it onto the map this summer, when Porsche Digital built “a successful and independent company out of an idea,” explains Mattias Ulbrich, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Digital. “We have succeeded in doing this thanks to the commitment of Eugen Letkemann and his team, above all.”
Letkemann is Chief Executive Officer of &Charge. “The key to this is that we can offer our users a broad portfolio of services – both in terms of collecting and redeeming kilometers,” he says.
One example is the recent cooperation with PlugSurfing reported by our German-speaking service back in July. Since then, the company added a public transport operator to the programme as well as the grocery chain Edeka in Germany. The website also lists international partners such as Asos, Ikea, Europcar or The Mobility House.
In general, &Charge wants to enable customers to use their collected points to support certified climate protection projects. To this end, the start-up works together with the project developer and climate solutions provider South Pole.
