Audi e-tron S 50 Quattro & 55 Quattro on sale in the UK

The new Audi e-tron Sportback 50 Quattro and 55 Quattro are now on sale in the UK. The German carmaker is offering the e-tron Charging service and significant perks to all fleet and retail customers placing an order before 31 December this year.

Audi’s more powerful S variants of the e-tron and e-tron Sportback have a drive layout with two different asynchronous motors (ASM), one per axle. The ‘S’ is used by the luxury carmaker in the sports versions of several volume models. As S variants, Audi says the e-tron and the e-tron Sportback are even more “agile, sharp and dynamic”.

The e-tron Sportback will debut in the UK with the 55 quattro with a 95kWh battery, peak electrical output of 300kW and range of up to 241 miles. A 50 quattro version with slightly reduced capacity and output of 71kWh and 230kW has also been announced this week and should be available to order in the autumn. The 55 quattro is available in three specifications with the S Line costing £79,000, and Launch Edition £85,900, and the Vorsprung trim at £95,100.

In the UK, Audi is also offering its e-tron Charging Service. Subscribers are then able to use one RFID payment card at charge points operated by 18 suppliers across the UK and Europe. Subscription models offer a choice of two fixed price charging tariffs.

The Sportback can recharge at 150 kW using an Ultra Rapid charger. The cheaper 50 quattro version with the smaller 71kWh battery pack will also be able to utilise the ultra-fast chargers but has a peak charging capacity of 120 kW. Both models will thus be able to recharge to 80% in around 30 minutes at corresponding charging stations.

With a kW home wall box charger, 55 quattro drivers will need around 14 hours to fully charge, while 50 quattro version requires about 10.5 hours. Drivers can activate and deactivate remote charging by downloading the myAudi app, which also allows them to define a home charging schedule that takes advantage of cheaper off-peak electricity supply periods.

Fleet and retails customers get a few specific perks: UK fleet and retail customers who place an order for an e-tron model before 31 December 2020 will be given a free 12-month subscription to the service’s Transit Tariff and an account credit equivalent to 1,000 miles-worth of electricity free of charge as well as a free 7kW home wall box charger.
